Islamic Relief USA and AUSV To Host Iftar Dinner

A hallmark of our democracy that symbolizes community unity and collaboration

WASHINGTON, D.C.(May 31, 2018)- Islamic Relief USA along with the Academy of United States Veterans will host an iftar dinner onFriday, June 1, 2018, at 7:30 P.M., as a gesture of community unity during the holy month of Ramadan. The dinner will be held on the rooftop at 1100 N Glebe Rd, Arlington VA 22201. The hallmarks of our nation’s democracy will be displayed at the iftar, through collaboration, cooperation and a sense of inclusion.

“Islamic Relief USA is proud of its commitment to collaborating with diverse partners in a variety of ways to make the world a better place. These shared values in action help break down walls of ignorance and intolerance, creating understanding among people committed to public service.  It's an honor to be able to break bread and further contribute to our nation's history of inclusion and tolerance,” said Sharif Aly, CEO of Islamic Relief USA.

The respect for our institutions, our way of life, and respect for each other serves as the example of how America has progressed through pushing boundaries and promoting freedom around the world for 240 years. The iftar dinner will contribute to our obligation as U.S. citizens that root for the success of community, unity, and equality through joint actions.

"Collaboration and cooperation among diverse cultures have been the staples of our military. As an Iranian-American veteran of the United States Army, I have firsthand experienced the power of inclusion in this great country of ours. Now, it is time to take the powerful voice of tolerance to every corner of our land,” said Founder and CEO of AUSV, Assal Ravandi.
