Fellow Americans and allies in every corner of the world:

Here at the Academy of United States Veterans, we believe in the magic of collaboration among powerful communities to create a more united, sustainable and healthy tomorrow not only for our veterans, but all Americans.

Every veteran deserves to have a voice in our American community. Every single service member on active duty, in transition, or separated from the military has a right to live a meaningful and sustainable life.

As veterans, we all believe in an old fashion conviction called public service. We wear our title of veteran as a badge of honor. As brothers and sisters in arms, we are called to confirm our values and our vows, to hold them against a hard reality and see how we are measuring up to the legacy of those who served before us and will serve long after us. As a community of Americans, we have the same responsibility of reaffirming principles with respect to our nation’s finest, our service members. Together we are stronger. We have a greater impact in making America aware of the needs in our communities and in shining a light on organizations, projects, and programs that truly have invoked change across America.

As members of the Academy of United States Veterans, we believe that our obligation to our community of service members is principally vital. We effectively utilize advocacy and outreach to ensure that decision-makers and supporters have a sense of clarity on the truth that lies behind the issues.

The Academy of United States Veterans has been established to educate and advocate through recognition and organization on behalf of the community to ensure a promising future for a new generation of veterans and organizations that work tirelessly on their mission of service.

We hope that you find our cause worthy of your support and decide to join us by giving, becoming a member, or simply attending one of our events.

Most respectfully,

Assal Ravandi

What we do:

With a relentless focus on the future, we strive to have our veterans and other powerful communities work together to promote both what is morally right and socially impactful. We build sustainable bridges of trust, unity and respect between our service members and other influential communities through advocacy, community relations and media outreach. Our newsworthy events and projects open the doors of shared opportunities and a shared sense of community.

What we believe:

We at AUSV— we believe communities can bring real opportunities for everyone involved through collaboration. We believe with no doubt that we can create a new narrative for our veterans and all Americans by creativity and collaboration, and of course by cooperation.  We believe that community unity is always a tribute to the strength and preference of a people for inclusion and partnership over division and alienation. There are more than 21 million United States veterans. We believe in the power of our community!

Why we do it:

After almost two decades of wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, it’s not surprising to hear that one of the county’s most underserved populations is the veterans community. While massive numbers of service members return home with depression, post-traumatic stress disorder and traumatic brain injuries, they are not all seeking help due to the stigma about seeking mental health care. Separation from service and the need to adapt to new societal norms lead returning service members to experience great difficulties in their newly founded lives. Veterans find meaning in community, and their sense of identity is often rediscovered in their sharing of memories and stories with their fellow service members. They find comfort in their sense of "selves" and in knowing that they too have a place in their new society.

We bring back a sense of community to our service members. We introduce their new generation to people in every corner of the globe through advocacy and collaboration. We roll out the red carpet for our veterans so that they can experience a more vibrant world that is often not offered to them. Our events are designed to create the social support, which is a crucial buffer to psychological distress that comes from reintegration and loss of identity.

Today, AUSV serves the community by promoting veteran service organizations and projects that advance the interests of our veterans. AUSV events and partnerships are designed to advocate for, and further the progress of the veterans community through the power of media, unity, and collaboration
